Symptoms of an attack

1. When a person is under attack, they lose there spiritual hunger for God.

Since our spiritual hunger is the first thing the enemy will attack in us, we must protect it at all costs. Mathew 5:6 check it out

2. The second thing that happens to a person under attack is a loss of strength.

Even though they are smiling and saying the same things, they have lost that force about them. They have lost that spiritual punch and accuracy. There is no life, joy or jump in them. See Ephesians 6:10 True joy, strength and life comes from the inward man. The only way a believer can effectively fight an attack is by gaining strength from the Lord.

We cannot win outside of the spirit. We must allow our confession in the word of God to give us strength. “Let the weak say, I AM STRONG.” We must be careful not to rely on natural ability when we are in a spiritual war.

3. The third way to recognize an attack is that you don’t feel like yourself.

When the natural body is sick, you feel terrible. We don’t feel like ourselves, we feel strange, and we act strange. When the body is sick, our natural tendency is to lay on the sofa, watch television; or go to bed and sleep the day away. We must recognize a spiritual attack in the same way. When we are being  fought by the enemy, we begin to feel things that are not true. One of those feelings is paranoia. You begin to feel like you are being judged, criticized and that every one is looking at you and telling you how awfully wrong you are. You feel like you can never please anyone because your life is such a spectacle.
If you give in to those feelings, you’ll quit and go backwards. That is called an attack of the devil.

Love and joy comes as a way of life when we live in the Spirit. Don’t ever be intimidated in a spiritual war.
Intimidation is a major weapon of the enemy. Intimidation puts you in a box and you can’t come out and be yourself.

One of the best tactics the enemy can use on a minister is to make him feel rejected, intimidated and insecure.

You are the victor; So Be It!. You are more than a conqueror; So Conquer! Don’t stand there and say, “well, no one likes me.” Say, Devil, I break your power!” The Bible calls us “army” and that’s not a nice title illustration. The bible tells us that because we are an army, we must learn the strategies of the enemy and conquer them. Learn to recognize when an attack comes. Stand up to it and win in the strength of the Lord.

  1. I to an extent disagree on the Symptoms and “Signs” of a Satanic Attach of which you expressed in this article. I believe we shouldn’t just point everything that doesn’t appear to be right or of the Lord to be that of Satan. Whatever happened to James 1:2-4 which says ” 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

I believe that we so called Christians allow the act of God to sharpen our life and renew our minds and call it the “Satanic”. I believe we should focus more on having Discerning knowledge before we go about trying to identify certain things. Consider it pure Joy regardless.

    Cheers

    1. To some extent I agree with you. Not “everything” that doesn’t appear right is of Satan, much of it is due to the fallen condition of our existence. But, there are definitely times that some people experience that sense of things “being off.”(Among other symptoms) I believe that people going through a time such as I am currently are those who find sites such as this and that your apparent dismissal of such events serves no purpose.

  2. Dearest D. Nyerere,
I hate to say that you strike me as one of the growing number of Christians who refuse to be tought anything, and are more eager to speak when they should be learning. I did not see one scripture supporting your refutation of the enlightening article. Attacks from the dark world is very real and has nothing to do with testing from GOD Almighty. These symptoms are very true. It’s good to know so we can shake off the drudgery and fight instead of saying, “THE LORD is testing me”. you’re loved.

    1. The Bible says for ye shall see the truth and know it. Bible is a guide and the Holy Spirit is a Great Teacher. Please let us not condemn but ask the Holy Spirit to counsel us. I believe it is more of the counsel we need whenever we come across any Teaching. The Holy Spirit cannot contradict His Word.

  3. It’s sad that we have tear each other thoughts or beliefs down in such a way thats not of God. Ist she did not say that every tribulation was caused by the devil, she was just making some points on how to know when we are under spiritual attacks. Spiritual attacks are real, and though we should count it all joy, but we should also have wisdom to beable to prevent certain attacks. If we are saying that we are the children of God, then we have to learn how to disagree is love.

  4. Whatever is of the devil cannot come from God. Sorrows and negativies of all kinds are from the pit of hell. Accepting problems and attributing it to God’s way of testing us is a misinterpretation and sense spiritual short-sightedness, because God is not an author of confusion. If God is the cause of problems why did he promise us peace and comfort in times of trouble (thats conflicting). Stand up and fight for yourself.

Other examples of attacks are horrific nightmares, oppression, sexual molestation in the dream, some unexplainable long lasting infirmities, etc. We’ve go to reject evil and accept good. Love y’all.

  5. Thank you so much for this article. For a few days now I have felt all the symptoms you spoke on your article coupled with dreams and physical manifestations, I came to a conclusion I was under spiritual attack. I searched google with the words “symptoms of spiritual attack” and none of the symptoms described in any of the articles struck me as accurate what is going on in my life right now as yours. Weakness in spirit, hunger for the word, distraction by accusations etc…..
The Lord’s name be praised. Redemption has come. We shall overcome. An army of angles have been charged over us and once more and we are ready to go into battle. Victory is ours! Let the army of Christ shout Halleluyah!!!!!!

  6. The symptoms described are what i went through.Needless to say i found the source of the attack and who was doing it.A human being just as me was behind it.Initiation of such attacks do sometimes come from within the building we call church and by those we call brothers, sisters and pastors. One of the result or outcome of this is that it proved the word of the Lord,” by their fruit you shall know them”.The first mention of this attack is found in the book of Job.Every form of this attack is to destroy one’s life.
The way out of this is simply to get closer to God and seek the power of God. Remember,Moses, “if i have found favour in your site, show me your way”. Instead of spiritual torment pray to God to show you Cherubims, heavenly things, remove all that is unlike God.
Further more pray “That frustrates the tokens of the liars,(Every justification the enemy may have) and makes diviners mad;(Turn every diviner and their work into confusing them that it always fail) that turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;(Every know how the enemy may have, every incantation, every which way demonic spirit may have been summoned into foolishness)
Anything that has sorrow, fear or uncertainty is not of God.

  7. Spiritual attacks makes us to behave in ways that do not match our character, one mistake we make in such circumstances is we consider and fix our attention on the work of the enemy instead of who God is and the power of God.The more we fix our focus on him the bigger he gets in the situation “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Doubtless to say , things will go wrong, loss of job, sickness, diseases, friendless but if we continue to fix steadfast our focus on the Lord, spiritual might and understanding will increase and our spiritual antenna will be sharpened. The Lord will begin to interpret even his words and show hidden things.
One other mistake we must never make is to curse or seek misfortune or death of whoever is the tool of the enemy, why? because we will then be fighting in the well known terrain of the enemy.”Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good life his works with meekness of wisdom.
But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not, and lie not against the truth.
This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. “and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will”.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by them that make peace” on the other hand we must be praying according to the will of God and using the power of God.
The will of God is even for the tool to be saved.Hence prayer like every knowhow and plan of the enemy should be destroyed.

  8. I apologize, as I reread my positing I realize that my directness may be construed as hostility. Twenty years in the Army trained me to speak directly, but now that I’m a civilian I am finding that what is commended in one area of life is not always appropriate in another.

  9. While I knew what I was feeling was an attack, I am terribly disappointed that I fell pray to the enemy and retaliated by offering blow for blow. Somehow I let a door open, or perhaps he came in riding on someone but I am diligently closing it. As a mature saint, we cannot fight these natural battles with natural acts. We must fight these things with prayer and using our weapon-which is the word. Although some of these things are for our goods, such as warning us to cut somethings/people out of our lives. I pray everyone strength in the Lord, we will win.

  10. Thank you very much on the subject. I had 3 days not sleeping. And I didn’t know what was wrong with me only to find out that I am attacked in my mind. I was praying about the situation but it did not stop. The holy spirit reminded me of strongholds and I could realized that this where my problem is. I went to Cor 10 and realized am battling with negative thoughts. Soon a read Cor 10 I new exactly the thought perterns. ND reading you article made it easy for me cast down those strongholds . Thank very much for this wonderful information. I pray that many depressed people must get hold of this information.
